Nothing happens after launching MicroSIP

Look for the MicroSIP icon in the system tray.

How do I set up an account?

Right-click the tray icon near the clock.

How do I add a contact?

Right-click the blank area in the Contacts tab.

How do I use a different SIP port?

With a SIP proxy, add the port only to the proxy. Without one, add it to both the SIP server and the Domain.

How do I get the best voice quality?

Quality depends on the audio codec negotiated for each call. The VoIP provider can route calls through low-quality codecs or limit the allowed codecs, so you may want to use the force codec option for incoming calls. Latency averages about 200 ms one way and cannot be significantly reduced.

Can I use MicroSIP without registration?

Enter the gateway in the Domain field on the account page, or dial in the form number@gateway.

Peer-to-peer calls between two laptops without a SIP server?

Install MicroSIP, dial the callee's IP address (e.g. sip:IP or just the IP), and enable a local account in Settings to make IP-to-IP calls alongside an active SIP account.

How do I do an attended transfer?

Turn off Single Call Mode, make or receive a first call, then make a second call. The Attended Transfer button in the second window becomes available. Note the PBX may not support standard SIP transfers; transfers can also be done with feature codes.

Click-to-call in Excel?

Use the formula =HYPERLINK(CONCATENATE("tel:",A1)).
